Not just questions designed to clarify the marching orders she had been given, but the kind of queries she had fired at her parents and teachers as a child, meant to broaden and deepen her understanding of how things work so she could create a more refined model of the world. How do we write a book report exactly? What is the structure supposed to look like?

Answers

Explanation:

1) Always include the following elements in any book report:

the type of book report you are writing

the title of the book

the author of the book

the time when the story takes place

the location where the story takes place

the names and a brief description of each of the characters you will be discussing

many quotations and examples from the book to support your opinions

2) A Plot Summary

When you are writing a plot summary for your book report you don't want to simply retell the story. You need to explain what your opinion is of the story and why you feel the plot is so compelling, or unrealistic, or sappy. It is the way you analyze the plot that will make this a good report

3) A Character Analysis

If you choose to write a character analysis, you can explore the physical and personality traits of different characters and the way their actions affect the plot of the book

What are some other ways other than quotes, to state your evidence in an essay? In a few days, I will be taking a state exam that will require me to write either an informative or argumentative essay. Please take note, that I am in the 8th Grade.

Answers

answer: you can say “the author states” or “paragraph ... says that”
solution: lmk if that helps

Answer:

Well usually, arguments are supported by quotes as evidence. However, what you can do is, depending on what the topic is, (and depending on whether they let you or not) you can use your own experiences as well. If you use a quote, you can add on with the personal experience, or simply use common sense or simple scientifically-proven facts that most of the human race knows.

But yes, don't fill your whole essay with quotes. My teachers used to take out points for that, because all that would be doing is just restating what was already said.

BUT REMEMBER:

Informative and Argumentative are almost complete opposites.

- Informative essays are just to educate the reader without bias; you only state the facts, no opinions. Personal experiences in this category are not recommended; by doing this, it may show signs of bias.

- Argumentative essays on the other hand, are to try and persuade the reader to agree with you on a certain topic. Here, you state your opinions, and support them using the facts. Personal experiences in this category are somewhat recommended. Like previously stated, you can use personal experiences as evidence to support your claim. HOWEVER, there is a fine line between what can make, or break your essay.

You can watch the video, "Argument Essay: Using Personal Experiences" to better explain how and when to use personal experiences.

(P.S.  Hope you do well on your exam :D)

Sample Response: The speaker in Derek Walcott’s Midsummer makes allusions to the Brixton riots. These allusions show that the speaker is thinking about racial tension in England and sees England as a place of unrest and discord. The speaker also makes allusions to many different Shakespearean texts. Although someone tells the speaker that black actors have “no experience” with Shakespeare, these allusions display the speaker’s deep knowledge of Shakespeare. These allusions help reveal his perspective that British culture belongs to people of all races.

What is allusions?

We use an allusion when we make a suggestion and assume the other person will understand the reference. For instance: Chocolate is his Kryptonite. In this context, the word "kryptonite" refers to or denotes the superhero Superman.

A writer makes an allusion when they make a reference to a well-known person, thing, place, or event in order to help the reader better understand what they've written by creating a connection between the reference and the work.

Donuts' scent is like kryptonite to me. She arrived looking like Venus. My weakness has always been that. I wish I could just click my heels and go home.

Thus, option A and C are correct.

Answers

Answer:

Corona Virus killed millions of people in the recent outbreak in Italy.

In the given sentence, the subject is "Corona Virus" while the verb is "killed". And it is given in the passive voice which is indicated by the use of "by" in the sentence.
